BAY CITY, MI — Just in time for River Roar and the Tall Ship Celebration, a nautical-themed restaurant overlooking the Saginaw River has opened its doors in downtown Bay City. It has a unique take on steak and seafood cooking.
"We're concentrating on Rok cooking, where we cook right at your table," said Mike Bojaj, who owns the Black Pearl with wife Suzette Bojaj. "It's what we want to be known for."
The restaurant at 1019 N. Water St. opened Thursday, June 23. It has a temporary menu featuring appetizers such as calamari, alligator bites and Caribbean shrimp, salads, steaks and pastas.
The standard menu will feature steaks ranging from sirloins to filet mignon, while seafood offerings will include tiger shrimp, prawns, crab legs, lobster tails, oysters, mussels and sea scallops. Sandwiches and burgers are also on the menu.
